Fidel Montaño
He learned basic weaving when he was 11 years old, his father was the one who encouraged him to learn this craft.
Fidel left for a while the elaboration of the rugs of Teotitlán del Valle to dedicate himself to his studies at the university, it was until 2020 that he met his cousin Pedro Diego – who is a craftsman – and taught him the basic techniques, from there he knew that textiles and designs with organic shapes, were his passion.
In the year 2021 he experimented, developed and perfected his own weaving techniques starting Abstrarct Rugs, a project aimed at textiles with organic shapes and contemporary designs where fortunately he had an excellent acceptance by the public.
